Official statement from FUZE Aviation Academy regarding EDTEA funding claims in DA Parliamentary Enquiry
Fuze Aviation Academy issues this formal statement to correct factually inaccurate claims made in a recent Democratic Alliance (DA) parliamentary enquiry submitted to the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA).
The parliamentary enquiry erroneously alleges that Fuze Aviation receives funding from EDTEA to support youth entering the aviation sector. This claim is completely false.
Fuze Aviation has never received, and does not currently receive, any funding from EDTEA.
- Fuze Aviation operates independently of any EDTEA financial backing.
- Contrary to unfounded allegations regarding student drop-outs, Fuze Aviation proudly maintains a 100% completion rate among all enrolled students to date.
- We have written directly to Mr. Sithembiso Ngema, DA Provincial Leader in KZN, and Ms. Hannah Winkler-Lidgett, MPL of the DA, to request an immediate correction and clarification in all future reporting on this matter. We welcome the opportunity to engage with the DA leadership to bring this issue to a swift finality.
Whether intentional or accidental, these baseless claims directly impugn the hard-earned reputation of Fuze Aviation. This cannot be left unchallenged, particularly as we are currently in the midst of preparations for our 2027 intake of aviation students. We remain fully focused on training the next generation of aviation professionals without distraction.
